Album Experiments

Given all the new images, I went ahead and put them up quickly with a piece of software called JAlbum. It's not a supremely flexible piece of software, but you'll recognize that it's what we used for the Historico rental which is still linked to your site.

Then I thought I'd have a little fun and look at options for images if you get some more, or have them organized. A couple of good things for us to keep in mind, and some failed experiments. I'll comment on each and provide links.

For fun, I did some work with the camera in the yard this morning. What a jungle I've grown! Check out the "pano" sub-directory though.. click all the way to the long thin images. Those might be a way to display rooms! This is one of those features of the Sony camera, and most wouldn't do that work.

By the way, in an overall review of camera quality, that Panasonic that was used to do HS really did a nice job in what probably weren't great lighting conditions. I'm amazed.

PopeyeAlbums

Hooray! I explored the PopSide_Home device below and figured out a way that we could run multiple albums on the same page. What I'm thinking about is one album per room for the HOME rooms page and an album running other images around the house (terrace, dining, etc.) on the front page.

A quick look at the low qualify of pocket cameras.. ;-)

Here I used the same "skin" (style) as you have seen before with the Historico, but I used sub-folders to organize the images. So we can nest albums, and include description. We unfortunately can't include links to reservations etc., but we can do gallery work. Think about structure.. what categories should we aim to create for pictures. Here I separated Home from Home Again and put rooms and livingrooms inside them. You could differentiate upstairs from downstairs if you want. I did the patios separately. At the top level where the choice is between the two main entities, I also put some "guest spots", including a version of Historico.

There would be some work here, but notice that each category has a description. Each image can have a description, though they are not well done in this design. I think with effort, if I created a category page for each image that we wanted to keep, then we'd essentially have stable text comments attached to each image. I like this, and it'd give people an honest chance to unerstand the place.

At the front page there's a final arrow up. This will go back to your Queretaro home page when we get things set up if we choose to go this way.
